On Wednesday, June 20, Empire Gate Medical Group opened its doors in Jamaica with hopes of providing excellent medical care, seven days a week.

According to Mike Jarmuz, marketing Director at Empire, there is not one doctor in the area that is open seven days a week, and in Jamaica Hospital one would have to wait about four hours to be seen.

“At Empire you would never have to wait that long and we are open 7 days a week,” he said. “Empire is the best alternative to Jamaica Hospital.

“What you have in this area are doctors that work three days a week and are out playing golf or at Atlantic City,” he added, “that's not our doctors though. Our doctors are here working and serving the community throughout the week.”

Empire welcomes patients with all types of insurance, same-day appointments, and doesn't turn away anyone. There are three doctors on staff at Empire and they plan to bring three more to the facility.

The facility is owned by Dr. Eric Moscow, who has been practicing internal medicine since 1986.

“We're really excited to work with the community, we're ready to be available,” he said. “We want to prove ourselves to the community. It's what doctors do.”

Dr. Suprin, another doctor on staff, practices family medicine and sees newborns to the elderly and every age in between. Suprin also speaks four languages, including English, Spanish, French and Creole.

“My goal is to provide the most comprehensive medical care to the community,” said Suprin. “We want our patients to know that if there is an emergency, we are here even after hours.”

At capacity, the facility can handle up to a 180,000 visits a year. Dr. Shauna Schwartz practices Internal medicine and women's health.

“We want to provide quality healthcare for everyone,” she said. “Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.”

Empire Gate Medical Group is a brand new facility that was built from the ground up and has state of the art technology. The facility is located on 88-10 Parson Boulevard in Jamaica.

Currently, the facility is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The medical facility plans to be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., 365 days a year soon.
