This interview is to give insight to many who are thinking about becoming a Real Estate Salesperson. With 41 years of Experience, Jim Has worked for a Company, managed 4 offices at one time, became the leading sales agent for 5 years straight, opened up his own Real Estate, and was the first to advertise on television. The first in the Community to go Century 21 Franchise. At one point Jim had up to 18 sales agents working for him.
An on hands Broker, who worked 7 days per week, with weekly meetings, training agents, and going to seminars for years. He is proud to have helped many salespersons to the point of them opening up their own Real Estate Offices. Many were helped to buy their first homes because of Jim's assistance. Most Brokers do not do all the things Jim did with agents because they didn't want agents leaving their Companies. And Brokers especially didn't want to train agents to know about Commercial Real Estate deals.
The number 1 problem till today with sales agents is joining the wrong outfit. They are never trained properly, they do not make the money they should be making full time, or even part time. So they after years of hardly making a living go to another Real Estate. This is common. And after 7-10 years most have been through 3-5 different Real Estates. Agents are never guided the way they should be, never trained properly, and have no mentor during their career.
Franchises, New Kinds of Franchises, Gimmicks, do not come close to becoming a stand out in the industry. You have Franchises, and everyday Brokers who are in the Real Estate Business but know nothing about Commercial Real Estate. This is where the big Commission come in. But if you are not trained in Commercial Real Estate, and just do apartment rentals and house sales this is what some agents make per year.

............................................ Full time Averaging $30,000 dollars to $60,000 dollars per year.
If you are making less than above you need to seek advice and fast.
A full time agent yearly should be averaging $10,000 per month using the six month scale to make sure you are on track. This pertains to agents working with a local broker who knows what he is doing, and takes the time to train you the right way. If you really want to hit it out of the Ballpark, and make over $200k to $500k per year then I suggest you work for Cushman Wakefield one of the best outfits in Queens and New York.
