Each year the NYPD and city officials come together with over 70 local communities to celebrate the annual Night Out Against Crime.

On August 7th, Jamaica residents and businesses were invited to attend the festivities on behalf of the 103rd Precinct at Rufus King Park.

One of the neighborhood businesses in attendance was Zara Realty.

Zara Realty has become well known for their philanthropic efforts over their 36 years of serving the Queens rental community. The organization has an impressive track record of charitable achievements such as providing a new computer lab at Richmond Hill High school, giving out scholarships to students in need, as well as funding a behavioral research center at Guyana University.

“As a Jamaica-based firm with deep roots in the local community, Zara is committed to partnering with law enforcement, and with community organizations, to support our neighbors, our local businesses, and our tenants to ensure that everyone feels safe and secure on the streets and in their homes. We have always been strong supporters of National Night Out Against Crime, of the men and women of the 103rd Precinct and the entire NYPD. It is a great way to meet your neighbors, to encourage community policing, and to celebrate the wonderful diversity of our neighborhoods” says Tony Subraj, Vice President of Zara Realty.

The annual Night Out Against Crime is a way to foster relationships between the community and local law enforcement. Strengthening these ties often leads to safer neighborhoods as a whole.

The event featured karate demonstrations, a bouncy house, vendors, a DJ, face painting, food, refreshments, and information sessions about crime prevention.

Amir Sobhraj another one of the leaders at Zara echoes Subraj's sentiments. “The members of Zara Realty consider so many of our tenants to be like an extended family, and National Night Out Against Crime provides a wonderful way to spend time with neighbors and get to know the men and women who protect us every day."

"It is critical that we support neighborhood initiatives like this one as part of our ongoing commitment to invest in our communities for the long-term.”
