Three men were shot in a suspected gang-related shooting Thursday afternoon in Jamaica, according to police.

At 3:04 p.m. Thursday, March 1st, officers responded to a call of a male shot outside of a fast food restaurant at 139th Street and 89th Avenue. Upon arrival, they found that a 17-year-old male was shot in the buttocks, a 20-year-old male was shot in the right leg and another 20-year-old was shot in the right arm.

All three victims were taken to Jamaica hospital and listed in stable condition.

Pertaining to the shootings, 21-year-old Damian Rampersad, of 90-10 149th Street, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

According to police, the shooter is a suspected Latin King, in a dispute with members of a rival gang, MS13.

In an unrelated incident at 12:30 a.m. Friday morning, anti-crime officers in plain clothes conducting a routine patrol heard shots fired in front of 107-11 59th Street. Officers observed a 19-year-old man with a firearm in hand standing over a 20-year-old man, who was unconscious and unresponsive.

The suspect saw the officers approaching him and fled. He then attempted to enter a 2009 Chevy Malibu, occupied by a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old female, when he was apprehended without incident.

Officers recovered two firearms, a .25 and a .22-caliber handgun, in the vicinity of the incident.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the two occupants of the vehicle along with another 16-year-old male were taken to the 103rd Precinct for questioning. Charges are pending, according to police.
