As many as 25,000 people poured through the streets of Richmond Hill on Sunday, March 11 to celebrate Holi, also known as the festival of colors in the Hindu religion which marks the start of the spring season.

The annual Phagwah parade marched through Liberty Avenue and ended up at Phil Rizzuto Smokey Oval Park as it does every year, where parade-goers doused each other with powder and colorful dyes.

Holi marks the triumph of good over evil and is celebrated by Indian nationals as well as many from the Caribbean diaspora.
