Gas documentary at real eye-opener

Dear Editor:

In 1975, we had an Audi Fox, and for $5 I drove around the city for more than a week. Back then, I thought that at this point in time we would be getting something like 60 miles per gallon (MPG). Alas, that is not the case, and it seems we may be paying $5 for just a gallon of gas this summer.

Last week I saw Gas Hole!, a 2008 documentary about the oil industry's abuse of us, oil prices, the future of alternative fuels, and U.S. dependency on foreign oil.

It also tells the tale of a carburetor developed in the 50s that was squashed by the oil industry and its inventor murdered! I urge everyone to check it out, and I implore one and all to let our our lawmakers know about it, and make due haste to have this product produced and marketed to us.

With our current technology, we should be able to double or even triple our MPG. Can you imagine what that would do to our oil dependency and our cost of living?

Sincerely,

Ralph Rivera
